Tishrei, the 7th month on the Hebrew (God's) calendar
This is the 7th month, in the Hebrew (Jewish) calendar, God's calendar.
In this month there are many powerful feasts of God.
The first one is Rosh Hashanah called the feast of trumpets (that falls on the 1st of Tishrei), Yom Kippur , or Day of Atonement is the second one (that falls on the 10th of Tishrei), Feast of Tabernacles or booths also called Sukkot in Hebrew begins on the 15th of Tishrei and finishes on the 22nd of Tishrei.
Sukkot or Feast of Tabernacles:
The Feast of Tabernacles falls on the 2nd of October 2009 in the evening when the sun goes down and ends on the 10 of October 2009 when the sun goes down
On the 15th of Tishrei to 22 of Tishrei, we have the feast of Tabernacles (which is celebrated for 7 days), as in Zechariah 14:16-21, also called booths or Sukkot in Hebrew,
meaning that in this season we celebrate God the Father, and Jesus Christ the Lamb to be our Heavenly temple on Earth (Rev 21:22, Rev 21:3, & Rev11:19).
Before the Temple was destroyed in Jerusalem, the priest used to draw water from the pool of Siloam, (John 9:7, Isaiah 8:6, 1 chronicles 11:15-18 & Nehemiah 3:15)
and pour it on the altar that was in the Temple courtyard, until the water was over flowing, and running out under the temple gates, and went out in to the valley outside the temple.
When we celebrate the feast of Tabernacles, we are also coming to God to draw spiritual water( Holy spirit) from His heavenly Temple. (Rev 22:1, Psalm 105:41-45, Ezekiel 47:1-12, Rev 7:17, & Rev 22:17).
In John 7:1-14 the feast of Tabernacle began, and in John 7:37-38 which was the last day of that feast , Yeshua (Jesus Christ) declares; if anyone thirsts, let him come unto Me and drink, he who believes in Me (by observing and keeping My commandments), as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
There is a saying in Israel that says; he who has seen, and has partaken of the water drawing from the Temple, has also seen and partaken of the Joy of Life.
One opinion says that "Tishrei" means "to begin", for the beginning of Tishrei meant that it was the beginning of an agricultural year or farming year.
Another meaning of "Tishrei" is forgiveness.
"Tishrei" also means "released" and they explained that the month was so named because in it God "releases and lets go all" the sins of the Jewish people and the body of Christ.
Tishrei" is the Aramaic word for "You will forgive", clearing the sins of people and pronouncing them not guilty. |
