The more I try, the more I fail, what can I do?
I need some help! Since last year, I made up my mind to become more faithful in keeping God's commandments and the things that are required from me, but I have realized that the more I try the more I fail, and its frustrating. Can you give me some tips on what I can do?
ANSWER:
According to your question and what you are going through it looks like you are already doing good, but you just lack the ability to compliment those small progressive steps that you are making towards your goa.
In simple words I mean that when ever you are trying to change a bad behavior or bad habit from bad to what God requires from you, then all over sudden you are going to come across many obstacles and characteristics in your nature, and environment around you that will try to stop you from fulfilling your commitment to God.
Romans 7:9-10 I was I live once without the law but when the commandment came sin revived and I died, and the commandment which was to bring life, I found to bring death, for sin taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me and by it , it killed me.
From Genesis 1:2-31, God remembered to compliment every small step that He made towards His creation from the first day to the very last day of His creation, after every step that God created, God also complimented Himself by saying and seeing that what He had created was good.
If you make up your mind and commit yourself into doing something for God, for example; you make a decision to be more faithful in your bible studying and prayer life for three good weeks (waking up early to read your bible and fulfill your prayer commitments), and through your commitment you come across hindrances that hinders your from fulfilling your goal.
Then this also means that the obstacle has occurred so that you may take a time off and compliment the spiritual achievements that you have been able to accomplish until that point,
Thank God for what you have been able to do, and speak good words over yourself. complimenting your achievements no matter if they are big or small, another thing that is very important to remember is that you must also give a thanks giving offering into God's work.
Read Acts 10:31 and Psalm 50:14-15 so that your faith and trust in God, may be revealed by the support you give towards His work, and that will also bring a change in that area where you are falling short.
Instead of complaining, condemning yourself, and speaking bad over yourself because of what you have not been able to do, it's better for you to divide up your activities that you are doing for God into small steps of compliments (compliment every small step that you progressively make towards your goal), In that way you will be able to accomplish your goals and eliminate your failures, God bless
