Matthew 5:3 which says " blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven".
I meant the word "poor in spirit" what does poor in spirit mean?
Answer:
Poor in spirit; Have you noticed that; the poverty (poor) is in the spiritual essence and not in the physical aspect of life?
Poor in the spirit; is the state where someone is confronted by the reality of wanting to know his or her spiritual purpose in life.
Poor in the spirit is a physical state where somebody chooses to give up all his earthly possessions, so that he or she may posses, regain and redeem his spiritual godly identity. The simple example to use here is Ruth in the book of Ruth and Elijah in the book of 2 Kings, who left their father's riches, so that they may be able to follow after their godly leaders.
Poor in the spirit is also a strong inner desire of wanting to fulfill the spiritual identity that pertains to one's life.
I see a lot of people (churches, men of God) who are going around feeding the greedy, materialistic and selfish desires of the so called "poor people".
But yet; the more they give them food and what they are begging for, the more these people (so called poor people) become more dependent on the material things that are given unto them.
For so longer the church has been feeding the wrong poverty.
One day we spoke to a woman who was a hard core smoker and addicted to drugs, when she came to us asking for cigarets to smoke. We told her we din't have any cigarets , but we had Jesus Christ.
And she said to us she knew Him already. And she went unto say that she only attends the church because of the food, clothes and money that she gets from that church.
Unfortunantly the church where she was attending, they were treating her as a single mother, some time they gave her money, clothes, food etc.
The money they gave her to take care of her needs, ended up being spent on the evil spiritual identity of her sinful nature, (she used the money to buy cigarets, drugs and give some of it to her abusive boy friend).
I really believe with all my heart that this church really thought that they were doing good and taking care of the poor.
But ignorantly they were feeding the evil spiritual craving desires of the so called "poor people".
Being poor in the spirit is the spiritual state where someone is hungry, passionate and spiritually craving for righteousness.
Seek he first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these other material things will come to you as a result of righteousness.
The church is full of slaves who are lovers of material things, people using God's anointing as a channel to gain wealth, riches, divine health etc...
And at the same Time, these are the same people who dispice the laws and moral standards of righteousness.
Physical poverty is not solved or eliminated by giving to the poor, but on the contrary. The poor must learn how to give into the anointing.
Poor people always begg to feed their physical needs, and that is why they are still poor.
A farmer lives on sowing seed, as he sows those seeds, there is a multiplication of the seed he has sown. A seed that is sown or surrendered, has the ability to multiply and turn an environment of poverty into a fruitful land. there is a seed in every thing, even in those so called "poor people".
Most of these so called "poor people" live like animals, because they live to eat, drink, and feed their physical needs.
When the place where they are consuming their food from, runs out of it's resources, like animals; they immigrate to another place where they can find resources to out drain.
Blessed are the poor in spirit for they shall in herit the kingdom of heaven.
Those who by choice, chooses to give up their earthly riches, for the sake of righteousness, they shall be blessed or empowered to prosper.
In the days of Noah (before the flood), the people were still spending their money into the buying of material things, enjoying the pleasures of the flesh, going to discos, eating and drinking, giving in marriage, the poor were on the streets begging etc...
But on the side of righteousness, the righteous had a commitment of spending their money, strength, tithe, obedience and having faith in the gospel of building a boat.
"Poor in the spirit" simply means; choosing to spend my life into the righteous acts which pleases God, rather than spending my strength and money into the things that pleases the world.
